Pewamo-Westphalia elementary school principal & son found dead

WESTPHALIA, Mich. ( — Michigan State Police are exploring the deaths of a primary school key and his child, who were found in Montcalm County.

Pewamo-Westphalia Superintendent Dr. Garth Cooper said Pewamo Elementary main George Heckman and his child were discovered inert in a vehicle in Carson City around 7:45 p.m. Monday.

Cooper said when Heckman didn’t appear at a 7 p.m. executive meeting, the look for him increased. Cooper said he had no clue why Heckman would be in Carson City. Conditions encompassing the passings are hazy.

Heckman should assume control as director of Pewamo-Westphalia schools in 10 days, Cooper told 24 Hour News 8. Cooper is leaving the region to lead Allendale Public Schools beginning July 1.
